I was 17 once..young, stupid, thought I was on top of the world. Got my gf pregnant, and had a daughter shortly after I turned 18 and my gf 17. That daughter is now 17...does it make me a hypocrite to try and teach her she should wait? Are we not supposed to learn from our mistakes?

Well anyones word wouldn't carry as much weight under those citcumstances when trying to convince a teen to not do it. I don't get what you're saying. I'm talking about abstinence only, telling your kid "hey don't do this etc. etc. etc." is just fine, but then teaching them or constantly reminding them to be safe and practice safe sex.

If you're making it a racial issue, than yeah.
